2016 Opel Insignia

First photos of masked test specimen Insignia type are triggering speculation of a new generation associated with vehicle. 2016 Opel Insignia will be expected next season. Anything significant, initially, will not bring the latest model. The redesign should include a new engine within the hood, and change the inner. 2016 Insignia will have a new program. Facilitated constriction in the complete vehicle will be placed on the item.

2016 Opel Insignia – Redesign

Whole one decade, this model is marketed. In Europe as the Opel Insignia, and in the U.S. and China, the model is known as the Buick Regal. Equally important to General Motors, the new Insignia will be redesigned with components of new GM models. In the previous statement, the new generation Insignia will be based on the Opel Monza Concept vehicle. This concept was launched in 2013. As such, it has been met with the approval of the audience. So far, little of Monza concept can be seen in the new Opel Sports Tourer. The reason is probably that, seen  test mule, is premature specimen.

The new Insignia will be placed on the new platform. Will it be a heavily updated version of front-wheel Epsilon II platform or D2XX. Is not able to say yet. Epsilon II platform currently used Chevrolet Impala and Malibu models. Just like the Cadillac XTS and Buick LaCrosse.

New Engine for 2016 Insignia

What certainly attracts the most attention is camouflaged bulge on the hood of the new generation Insignia model. This is not the first time that the test specimens appear in public with such detail. It is assumed that this is a forward-placed engine. No matter how strong, the engine thus positioned,  will affect the reduction of legroom for the passengers.

More details about the 2016 Opel Insignia is still expected. We all hope that the redesigned new generation will not only offer new powertrain. Streamlined outer look and new management systems would welcome to this “old lady”.
